Rockies 6, Giants 1 (AP)
The Rockies are doing the little things right on the road. Aaron Cook pitched a five-hitter to win his fourth straight decision, Willy Taveras had a pair of bunt singles and Matt Holliday hit a two-run single and had three RBIs in Colorado’s fourth consecutive victory, 6-1 over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday night.

Carlos Quentin picked a good night to come out of his slump. Quentin homered twice and drove in a career-high five runs, and the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied to defeat the Colorado Rockies 6-5 on Monday night. Colorado activates Kaz Matsui (AP)
The Colorado Rockies activated second baseman Kaz Matsui on Monday and optioned Omar Quintanilla to Triple-A Colorado Springs. Matsui missed 32 games with lower back spasms. Matsui, who was in the lineup for Monday night’s game against Arizona, hit .361 (13-for-36) with three RBIs in nine games before the injury.

Royals 10, Rockies 5, 12 innings (AP)
Ryan Shealy’s broken-bat single to right in the 12th inning brought in the go-ahead run and Joel Peralta added a two-run double in his first major league at-bat as the Kansas City Royals beat the Colorado Rockies 10-5 on Sunday. The Royals scored five runs off reliever Ramon Ramirez in the 12th inning.
