Rockies’ Lopez sidelined with elbow injury (AP)
Colorado Rockies right-hander Rodrigo Lopez’s elbow injury has been diagnosed as a torn flexor tendon, and he will be placed on the disabled list for the second time this season. Lopez left a game Thursday against Los Angeles with forearm tightness after pitching 6 2-3 innings. An MRI exam Monday revealed the diagnosis.

After coming close in his first two starts this season, Colorado made sure Ubaldo Jimenez could finally celebrate his first major league victory. Matt Holliday homered and drove in three runs, and Jimenez went six innings as the Rockies held off a ninth-inning rally for a 9-6 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.

Matt Holliday homered and drove in three runs, and Ubaldo Jimenez went six innings for his first major league victory in the Colorado Rockies’ 9-6 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. Jimenez (1-0) gave up two runs and four hits, striking out three after getting no-decisions in his first two starts this season.
