The Rockies-Padres game Friday night was delayed for 4 minutes in the third inning after a woman sitting in the field level behind first base was struck on the chin by a foul ball by Colorado’s Willy Taveras. Both Taveras and plate umpire Ed Rapuano knew right away that the fan had been struck. Someone in the Padres’ dugout handed two towels into the crowd.
